The UBC Investigations Office is committed to ensuring that investigations into sexual violence, discrimination and harassment are guided by the principles of procedural fairness, confidentiality, respect and a trauma-informed approach. We investigate complaints under Policy SC17 (formerly Policy 131 – Sexual Assault & Other Sexual Misconduct) and Policy SC7 (formerly Policy 3 – Discrimination & Harassment).
- Impartial: The UBC Investigations Office is a neutral office committed to ensuring that everyone’s rights are respected. We do not advocate for the complainant or the respondent.
- Trauma-Informed: With UBC Investigations Office investigators, you can expect conversation – not interrogation. Evidence is assessed and findings of fact are made with knowledge of the impact that trauma has on memory and presentation.
